Canycom CMX 2406 Ride On brushcutter

The 4WD Canycom CMX 2406 ride on brushcutter is the flagship model of the Canycom range. The Honda GX690V twin engine supplies 22hp from the 688cc that it packs, making this even more suitable for very large areas of heavy growth where high speeds need to maintained. The Cyclonic Air filter from Donaldson is a distinct advantage in dusty conditions.

The CMX 2406 is truly designed for Heavy Duty work, especially on steep slopes and as such has several unique features such as:-

• Foldable ROPS frame
• Motorised deck lift (height control) with a memory feature
• Audible Slop warning, (beep at 15 degrees, fast beep at 23 degrees and engine stop at 60 degrees.
• Unique front bumber design which gathers high crops to feed them under the mower to the blade.
• Higher seat position (Hi quality Grammer seat)

Not the cheapest..

The Canycom CMX 2406 may not be the cheapest ride on brushcutter on the market, and is certainly not the cheapest in the range. But lets face it, these machines can be asked to work in some pretty tough conditions so they need to be well made and quality costs money. Much of the extra cost of this model is down to the price of the unique features previously mentioned and to the Quick Change blades that can be changed without any tools.

This is why they are not cheap...

There are several main, and very important differences between the Canycom and other similar machines on the market.

The first and most noticeable difference is that the blade is shaft driven rather than the traditional (and cheaper) V belt method used on other machines. The shaft ensures that full power is always supplied to the blade without belt slippage resulting in less wasted power and ensuring a better cut in adverse conditions. And, of course, no costly belt replacements .

The Canycom CMX 2402 also differs from other brands in having a shaft driven front axle which has much less power loss than the traditional hydrostatic used by competitors, and no costly oil hose replacements.

Canycom also produce their own Hydrostatic main gearbox, designed  for the arduous task rather than utilising 'off the shelf' units mass produced for less demanding tasks. This transmission drives the wheels via a Hi and Lo ratio gearbox which can be used to match the torque to the load resulting in less stress on drive components. The Hi range can offer unrivalled operating speeds of up to 13.8 Km/h. The Low range is especially suitable on steep slopes as the power is utilised over lower speeds thereby maintaing Hi Torque/

When 4WD is not required the front wheels can be disengaged offering a power saving and lower fuel costs. This is unique to Canycom.

I have driven (and sold) other machines from alternative brands that have not been comfy to drive because of seat, pedal and steering wheel positions so I found the adjustabilty on the Canycom to be nothing short of amazing. There will be no excuse for not being comfortable on a Canycom.

Another  great feature is the ease of access to the blades for changing which is far superior to other brands in my opinion.
